Printed out 78 pages…17 chapters this afternoon. Now reading through it in hard copy and wondering if it’s all just so much crap and do I need to start over. Oh cursed cursed 78 pages of hard copy. What about being on a computer screen makes you so much more readable than the cold hearted white washed printed A4 slip of paper? I think I am editing now because it is my life that needs...

So Much. Too Much? There Is Much.
I abandoned tumblr long ago but came back through tonight for a visit. Since I was here last so much has happened and yet not much tangible to show for it. A couple of new publishing credits to my name. A few new risks taken. Several fears faced and new ones waltzing in to fill the empty space left by those now conquered. Mostly more questions and ideas and doubts. I’m in that place in...

Two Kinds of Women
I have come to believe there are two kinds of women in the world. The Pride and Prejudice type and the Wuthering Heights type. Which do you think you are and why?

Verbs vs. Dreaming
So I spent three hours in Barnes & Noble today. Not just B&N but in the section with all those books that have titles like, “How To Get Your Novel Published Even Though You Haven’t Written a Word” and “Dude, Where’s My Manuscript?” Three hours of looking through workbooks on how to form a plot, develop conflict, use quotation marks, ignite the sparks of...

Negatory
I met up with a friend yesterday in a park. She brought a friend along as well. Now I know I have a problem with authority. I know I really do not appreciate being told what to do, what to think, how to behave. I am working on it. Really I am. But that doesn’t mean things don’t get under my skin. And what itches most is when people respond to statments I make which are based on my own...

On a beach in southern India...
I’m sitting on the beach and its its very windy. The paper I am writing on is too light and keeps threatening to fly away. There is a man powered fishing boat with five rowers in the back and one standing on a pile of net in the middle. Sand crabs scurry along sideways from hole to hole all around me and a lady with a (probably) ten pound basket of bannans and pineapples balanced on her...

The Mystery Bag
We’ve all been lured by the mystery bag. Usually simple, brown paper bag full of odds and ends that couldn’t sell any other way. Somehow though, the gamble of not knowing what you might get calls to us. I remember being at a school fair in third or fourth grade and feeling blindly with my fingers the shape and weight of each mystery item. What magic could this simple bag hold? It felt...
